Passive and Active Balancing of Li-ion battery cells

Congratulations to Ephrem Chemali and Lucas McCurlie of McMaster University who won second place in the MATLAB And Simulink Student Design Challenge with their submission “Passive and Active Balancing of Li ion battery cells”. This duo formulated balancing techniques to improve the life-span and overall performance of batteries, and used a MapleSim lithium ion-battery pack model to get a realistic view of the balancer.
