following steps.

Windows Single User
Installation
During the installation, you will need your purchase code (sent to you in an
email).
To install Maple Toolbox for MATLAB on your Windows operating system, read
and complete the following tasks.
Pre-installation
Instructions
- Check the Windows System Requirements.
- On Windows 2003, Windows 2000, and Windows XP Professional, log on as administrator
or ensure that you have administrator privileges.
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- This product requires Maple 11 or later.
To identify your Maple release:
- 1. Start Maple.
- 2. From the Help menu, select About Maple. The About
Maple 11 dialog indicates the release number.
To update to the latest Maple release:
From the Tools menu, select Check for Updates and follow the
instructions. If that option is dimmed, obtain the update from the downloads
section of the Maplesoft Web site.
- This product requires MATLAB versions 7 (R14), 7.1 (R14 Service Pack
3), 7.2 (R2006a), or 7.3 (R2006b). It is also possible to
use MATLAB version 6.5 (R13) with additional
installation instructions.
- Close all programs.
Install
Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
- Ensure that you have reviewed the Pre-installation
Instructions.
- To begin installing Maple Toolbox for MATLAB, choose one of the following:
- Navigate to the MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Windows.exe
file you downloaded and double-click the file.
- Place the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB CD in the CD-ROM drive. If the installation
program does not begin automatically, locate and double-click D:\Windows\SingleUser\MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Windows.exe
(where D is the CD-ROM drive that contains the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
CD).
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Maple Toolbox for MATLAB will be installed
in c:\Program Files\Maple 11\toolbox\MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- When prompted, enter the purchase code you were emailed and other required
information to activate.
- If you activated successfully, you are ready to use Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.
If you had problems activating or chose not to activate during the installation,
see Windows Single User Activation.
Linux Single User
Installation
During the installation, you will need your purchase code (sent to you in an
email).
To install Maple Toolbox for MATLAB on your 32-bit Linux operating system,
read and complete the following tasks.
Pre-installation

- Check the 32-bit Linux System Requirements.
- Log on to the account that will own the Maple files. Ensure you have appropriate
read and write privileges.
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- This product requires Maple 11 or later.
To identify your Maple release:
- Start Maple.
- From the Help menu, select About Maple. The About
Maple 11 dialog indicates the release number.
To update to the latest Maple release:
From the Tools menu, select Check for Updates and follow the
instructions. If that option is dimmed, obtain the update from the downloads
section of the Maplesoft Web site.
- This product requires MATLAB versions 7 (R14), 7.1 (R14 Service Pack
3), 7.2 (R2006a), or 7.3 (R2006b). It is also possible to
use MATLAB version 6.5 (R13) with additional
installation instructions.
- Close all programs.
Install
Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
- Ensure you have reviewed the Pre-installation Instructions.
- To begin installing Maple Toolbox for MATLAB, choose one of the following:
- Change directory to the location of the MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Linux.bin file you downloaded
and run the file with the command ./MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Linux.bin.
- Run MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Linux.bin located on the Maple Toolbox
for MATLAB CD in the Linux32/SingleUser folder. To run the installer
in console mode, use the -i console option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Maple Toolbox for MATLAB will be installed
in /home/$USERNAME/maple/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- When prompted, enter the purchase code you were emailed and other required
information to activate.
- If you activated successfully, you are ready to use Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.
If you had problems activating or chose not to activate during the installation,
see Linux Single User Activation.
Linux 64-bit Single
User
During the installation, you will need your purchase code (sent to you in an
email).
To install Maple Toolbox for MATLAB on your 64-bit Linux operating system,
read and complete the following tasks.

Toolbox for MATLAB

- To begin installing Maple Toolbox for MATLAB, choose one of the following:
- Change directory to the location of the MapleToolboxforMATLAB_LinuxX86_64.bin
file you downloaded and run the file with the command ./MapleToolboxforMATLAB_LinuxX86_64.bin.
- Run MapleToolboxforMATLAB_LinuxX86_64.bin located on the Maple
Toolbox for MATLAB CD in the LinuxX86_64/SingleUser folder. To
run the installer in console mode, use the -i console option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Maple Toolbox for MATLAB will be installed
in /home/$USERNAME/maple/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- When prompted, enter the purchase code you were emailed and other required
information to activate.
- If you activated successfully, you are ready to use Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.

Macintosh Single
User
During the installation, you will need your
purchase code (sent to you in an email).
To install Maple Toolbox for MATLAB on your Macintosh operating system, read
and complete the following tasks.

- Ensure that you have administrator privileges.
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- This product requires Maple 11 or later.
To identify your Maple release:
- Start Maple.
- From the Maple 11 menu, select About Maple 11. The About
dialog indicates the release number.
To update to the latest Maple release:
From the Tools menu, select Check for Updates and follow the
instructions. If that option is dimmed, obtain the update from the downloads
section of the Maplesoft Web site.
- This product requires MATLAB versions 7 (R14), 7.1 (R14 Service Pack
3), 7.2 (R2006a), or 7.3 (R2006b). It is also possible to

Install
Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
- Ensure you have reviewed the Pre-installation Instructions.
- To begin installing Maple Toolbox for MATLAB, choose one of the following:
- Navigate to the MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Mac.zip
file you downloaded. To decompress MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Mac.zip,
double-click it. To launch the installer, double-click the MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Mac.app file.
- Place the Maple Toolbox for Maple CD into the CD-ROM drive. On the desktop,
double-click the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB icon.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Maple Toolbox for MATLAB will be installed
in /Library/Frameworks/Maple.framework/Versions/11/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- When prompted, enter the purchase code you were emailed and other required
information to activate.
- If you activated successfully, you are ready to use Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.
If you had problems activating or chose not to activate during the installation,
see Macintosh Single User Activation.
Single User Activation
Maple Toolbox for MATLAB requires activation. You can activate during the installation
process or later. If you do not activate during the installation process, complete
the following steps to activate.
Windows Single User Activation
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- From Windows Explorer, navigate to the location of your Maple Toolbox
for MATLAB installation. The default location is
C:\Program Files\Maple 11\toolbox\MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- Go to the license folder and double-click the activation.bat
file.
- Enter your purchase code. If you are activating behind a proxy server,
ensure that you enter this information before clicking Next.
- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleToolboxForMatlab.dat)
is saved in the license folder of your installation.
If you experience difficulties with activation, follow the instructions in
the readme.txt file in the license folder of your installation.

Linux Single User Activation

- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleToolboxForMatlab.dat) is saved in the license
folder of your installation.

- From the terminal, find the location of your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
installation. The default location is /Library/Frameworks/Maple.framework/Versions/11/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- Run the activation script located in the license folder
of your installation.
- Enter your purchase code. If you are activating behind a proxy server,
ensure that you enter this information before clicking Next.
- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleToolboxForMatlab.dat)
is saved in the license folder of your installation.
If you experience difficulties with activation, follow the instructions in
the readme.txt file in the license folder of your installation.

Windows Installation
Using a Network License
To install Maple Toolbox for MATLAB on your Windows operating system using
a network license, read and complete the following tasks.

file you downloaded. To decompress MapleToolboxforMATLAB_MacNet.zip,

- Place the Maple Toolbox for Maple CD into the CD-ROM drive. On the desktop,
double-click the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB icon.

Sun Solaris Installation
Using a Network License
To install Maple Toolbox for MATLAB on your Sun Solaris operating system, read
and complete the following tasks.

- Log on to the account that will own the Maple files. Ensure you have appropriate
read and write privileges.
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft

file you downloaded and run the file with the command ./MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Sun.bin.
- Run MapleToolboxforMATLAB_Sun.bin located on the Maple Toolbox
for MATLAB CD in the Solaris/Network folder. To run the installer
in console mode, use the -i console option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Follow the instructions for Linux and UNIX Network

Complete the following tasks:
- Task 1: Activate the Maple
Toolbox for MATLAB Network license file
- Task

Task 1: Activate the Maple
Toolbox for MATLAB Network license file
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.
- Find the location of your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB installation. By default,
c:\Program Files\Maple 11\toolbox\MapleToolboxForMatlab.
- Go to the license folder and double-click the activation.bat
file.
- Enter your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
purchase code, hostname, and hostid of your license server. If you are activating
behind a proxy server, make sure to enter this information before clicking
Next.
- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleToolboxForMatlab.lic) is saved in the license
folder of your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
installation,
c:\Program Files\Maple 11\toolbox\MapleToolboxForMatlab\license. If
you experience difficulties with activation, follow the instructions in
the readme.txt file in the license folder of your installation.

Task
2: Move the license file
- Move the MapleToolboxForMatlab.lic
license file to
C:\Program Files\Maple Network Tools\activate.

3: Stop the License Manager

From the Start menu, select Programs >
Maple Network Tools > LMTools. The LMLTools
dialog opens.

Under the Service/License File tab, click Configuration
using Services.

Click the Config Services tab. From the Server
Name list, select the service currently being used.
-
Click the Start/Stop/Read tab, then click Stop
Server.
Task
4: Start the License Manager Daemons

From the Start menu, select Programs >
Maple Network Tools > LMTools. The LMLTools dialog opens.

Under the Service/License File tab, click Configuration
using Services.
-
Click the Config Services tab.
-
In the Config Services property sheet, enter
or browse for the following:

Enter the path to the directory containing all of the Maple license
files. Point to the directory only, not an actual
license file.

For Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows
XP Professional, select the Use Services check box (recommended)
to set up the daemons as a service. (This option is not required to start
the daemons under Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows XP Home.)

To set the daemons to start at boot time (recommended),
select the Start Server at Power Up check box.
-
Enter a name for your service and click Save Service.
When prompted to save the service, click Yes.

Select the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click Start
Server to start the license manager daemons.
You can now use Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.
Linux and UNIX Network Licensing
and Activation
Complete the following tasks:
- Task 1: Activate the Maple
Toolbox for MATLAB Network license file
- Task
2: Move the license file
- Task 3: Stop the License

Task
1: Activate the Maple Toolbox for MATLAB Network license file
- Ensure that you are connected to the Internet. If your computer does not
have an Internet connection, please contact your distributor or Maplesoft
customer service.

installation, by default /home/$USERNAME/maple11/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab/license.
- Enter your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
purchase code, hostname, and hostid of your license server. If you are activating

- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleToolboxForMatlab.lic) is saved in the license
folder of your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB

2: Move the license file
- Move the MapleToolboxForMatlab.lic
license file to /home/$USERNAME/name/Maple_Network_Tools/activate.

3: Stop the License Manager
- Navigate to the location of the FLEXlm utilities that are currently
being used. By default, /home/$USERNAME/name/Maple_Network_Tools/FLEXlm/.
- Enter the command
./lmdown
Task
4: Start the License Manager Daemons

On 64-bit Linux platforms, you must enter the
following command before starting the license
manager daemon:
Using
the C shell: setenv
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1
Using
the Korn or Bourne shell: export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1

Navigate to the location of the FLEXlm
utilities for your operating system. By default, /home/$USERNAME/name/Maple_Network_Tools/FLEXlm/.

To start the license manager, enter the following
command:
./lmgrd
-c /license_file_path -l debug_log
where license_file_path
is the full path to the directory containing the license files,
by default /home/$USERNAME/name/Maple_Network_Tools/activate/.
Note:
Point to the directory only, not an actual license file.
You can now use Maple
Toolbox for MATLAB.

Complete the following tasks:

- From the terminal, run the activation script located in the license
directory of your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
installation, by default /Library/Frameworks/Maple.framework/Versions/11/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab/license.
- Enter your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB
purchase code, hostname, and hostid of your license server. If you
are activating behind a proxy server, ensure that you enter this information
before clicking Next.
- Enter additional information and click Next.
- A license file (MapleToolboxForMatlab.lic)
is saved the license directory of your Maple
Toolbox for MATLAB installation, /Library/Frameworks/Maple.framework/Versions/11/toolbox/MapleToolboxForMatlab/license.
If you experience difficulties with activation, follow the instructions
in the readme.txt file in the license folder of your installation.

2: Move the license file
- Move the MapleToolboxForMatlab.lic
license file to /Users/$USERNAME//Applications/Maple_Network_Tools/activate/.

3: Stop the License Manager
- From the terminal, go to the location of the FLEXlm utilities that
are currently being used. The default location is /Users/$USERNAME//Applications/Maple_Network_Tools/FLEXlm.
- Enter the command
./lmdown
Task 4: Start the License Manager Daemons
To start the license manager, enter the following command:
./lmgrd
-c /license_file_path -l debug_log
where license_file_path
is the full path to the directory containing the license files,
by default /Users/$USERNAME//Applications/Maple_Network_Tools/activate/.
Note:
Point to the directory only, not an actual license file.
You can now use Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.

The changes to the path made in this section must be undone if you decide to
uninstall Maple Toolbox for MATLAB.
- Follow the installation instructions for your platform.
- Unzip the <MATLAB>\help\toolbox\maple\help.jar file into the
<MATLAB>\help\toolbox\maple directory.
- Start MATLAB and make the following changes using the pathtool command.
- Remove entries beginning with <MATLAB>\toolbox\symbolic
- Add entries for directories <MATLAB>\toolbox\maple and
<MATLAB>\toolbox\maple\util
- Save these path changes and restart MATLAB for them to take effect.
MATLAB 6.5 should now recognize your Maple Toolbox for MATLAB 6.5 installation.
