This webinar focuses on new modeling techniques and tools for rapidly creating and analyzing high-fidelity multidomain plant models of renewable energy systems , including gas and steam turbine generator sets; wind, wave, and solar energy systems and batteries. The techniques are founded on the use of symbolic computation techniques as a framework for efficient model equation formulation and model optimization. The development of solar and wind power systems as well as high fidelity physical models of batteries will be presented. The symbolic computation system Maple and modeling system MapleSim will be used to illustrate examples.
