Advanced research techniques in mechatronics: vehicle dynamic modeling in steer-by-wire systems

Today’s vehicles are demanding increasingly sophisticated models in order to complete the design and prototyping process in a timely manner. Automotive OEMs continue to look to new-generation modeling, simulation, and control techniques to provide them with an analytical and competitive edge. This Webinar will present the work of Dr. Venkat Krovi and his innovative application of new design software tools to accelerate the model development process and simultaneously increase model fidelity. The design context will be the modeling and simulation of a vehicle steer by wire (SBW) with haptic feedback. Such innovative technologies are becoming increasingly important in the automotive industry yet the models for such complexity still remain inaccessible to many engineers in industry. Dr. Krovi will present his work and share his experiences in overcoming these design challenges and successfully developing and implementing models of very high complexity in significantly less time then previously possible. He will illustrate both the underlying mathematical, physics, and the computational elements of his work.  Dr. Krovi is an accomplished researcher and an authority in the full design lifecycle approach to mechanical and mechatronic design.
